1. General Terms
Welcome to Lewis Auto LLC ("Lewis Auto," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service establish the general policies governing our website, customer communications, and automotive repair services.
By requesting services from Lewis Auto, customers acknowledge the applicable terms communicated during their service transaction. Individual repair estimates, work orders, authorizations, invoices, and warranty agreements may contain additional terms specific to the services performed.
All services are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the Michigan Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act. Nothing in these Terms limits or waives rights provided by law.
2. Automotive Repair Services
Lewis Auto provides automotive diagnostics, inspections, preventative maintenance, and mechanical and electrical repair services for domestic and imported vehicles.
Services are performed based on the condition of the vehicle, the customer's requests, available equipment, parts availability, and the technician's professional assessment.
Lewis Auto reserves the right to decline or discontinue requested services when a repair cannot be performed safely, when appropriate parts or equipment are unavailable, or when circumstances otherwise make the service impractical, subject to applicable law and existing obligations.
3. Appointments and Vehicle Drop-Off
Lewis Auto operates primarily through scheduled vehicle drop-off appointments. Customers should arrange service and vehicle delivery in advance.
Appointment times and estimated completion dates are subject to change based on diagnostic findings, repair complexity, parts availability, and unforeseen circumstances.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information, vehicle keys, and relevant information about known mechanical problems or prior repairs.
Leaving a vehicle at Lewis Auto does not, by itself, constitute authorization to perform chargeable diagnostic or repair work.
4. Estimates and Repair Authorization
Lewis Auto provides written repair estimates as required by Michigan law.
Estimates are based on the vehicle's known condition and information reasonably available during inspection. Additional mechanical problems, concealed damage, or previously unknown conditions may require revisions to the original estimate.
No additional work requiring separate authorization under applicable law will be performed without obtaining the customer's approval.
Authorization may be documented through written agreements, electronic approvals, or verbal communication when permitted by law.
Customers may decline recommended services. Lewis Auto will explain known safety concerns or potential consequences associated with declining repairs when reasonably identified.
An estimate is not a guarantee that additional problems will not be discovered during service.
5. Diagnostic and Inspection Charges
Diagnostic services involve professional labor, equipment, testing procedures, and technical expertise.
Diagnostic or inspection charges may apply even when the customer declines the recommended repair or when testing does not identify a definitive cause.
Applicable diagnostic charges will be disclosed and authorized before chargeable work begins.
Certain conditions may require additional testing, disassembly, or inspection. Any additional charges requiring authorization will be communicated before proceeding.
Diagnostic findings reflect the vehicle's condition and available information at the time of inspection.
6. Parts and Materials
Lewis Auto may use original equipment manufacturer (OEM), aftermarket, remanufactured, rebuilt, or used components when appropriate and authorized.
The type and condition of replacement parts will be disclosed as required by applicable law.
Parts availability, manufacturer changes, supplier delays, and discontinued components may affect repair costs and completion times.
Lewis Auto makes reasonable efforts to select appropriate replacement components for each repair.
Any applicable manufacturer or supplier warranties are subject to their respective terms and conditions.
7. Customer-Supplied Parts
Lewis Auto may accept customer-supplied parts at its discretion.
Customers are responsible for ensuring supplied parts are correct, complete, compatible, and suitable for the intended vehicle.
Lewis Auto does not provide a parts warranty on components supplied by the customer. Any warranty on installation labor must be expressly stated in the applicable repair documentation.
Additional labor required because of incorrect, defective, incomplete, or incompatible customer-supplied parts may result in additional charges, subject to customer authorization.
Lewis Auto reserves the right to decline installation of components that present safety, reliability, or compatibility concerns.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility for damage or improper workmanship attributable to Lewis Auto.
8. Additional Repairs and Unforeseen Conditions
Vehicles may have underlying mechanical defects, prior improper repairs, corrosion, worn components, or concealed damage that cannot reasonably be identified before service begins.
If additional problems are discovered, Lewis Auto will communicate relevant findings and obtain any authorization required before performing additional chargeable work.
Repair recommendations may change based on further inspection or diagnostic results.
Customers remain responsible for authorized services already performed, subject to applicable law.
9. Labor, Pricing, and Additional Charges
Labor charges are based on the services performed, applicable labor rates, estimated repair times, and the complexity of the work.
Prices may vary depending on vehicle make, model, condition, repair requirements, and parts selection.
Applicable taxes, shop supplies, environmental disposal charges, and other permitted fees will be disclosed in estimates as required by law.
Website information, general price discussions, and preliminary quotes do not replace a vehicle-specific written estimate.
10. Payment Terms
Payment for completed, authorized services is due upon vehicle pickup unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in writing.
Lewis Auto accepts payment through methods made available at the time of the transaction.
Electronic payments may be processed through authorized third-party payment providers.
Customers will receive an itemized invoice documenting completed services and applicable charges.
Any payment disputes, refunds, or outstanding balances will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the specific repair transaction.
Lewis Auto may exercise lawful remedies regarding unpaid authorized repair charges, subject to all applicable notice, lien, and consumer protection requirements.
11. Repair Warranties
Lewis Auto is committed to professional workmanship and quality automotive repairs.
Warranty coverage, when offered, will be identified in the applicable invoice, repair documentation, or separate written warranty agreement.
Warranty eligibility, duration, covered components, labor coverage, and exclusions depend on the specific repair and any applicable written warranty.
Warranty claims should be reported promptly so the concern can be evaluated.
Repairs or modifications performed by another party after service may affect warranty coverage when they cause or contribute to the reported failure, subject to applicable law.
No provision in these Terms limits any warranty or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Vehicle Testing and Road Tests
Customers authorizing applicable diagnostic or repair services acknowledge that reasonable vehicle operation, inspections, and road testing may be necessary to evaluate concerns or verify completed work.
Such activities may include operating the engine, using vehicle systems, moving the vehicle within the facility, and conducting road tests when appropriate.
Lewis Auto will exercise reasonable care during vehicle handling, testing, and operation.
Road testing will be conducted only when reasonably necessary and when vehicle conditions permit safe operation.
13. Vehicle Condition and Existing Damage
Customers are encouraged to disclose known mechanical problems, warning lights, fluid leaks, electrical issues, modifications, and prior damage before service.
Lewis Auto is not responsible for pre-existing defects or unrelated failures that are not caused by its services.
Older vehicles, heavily corroded components, previously damaged parts, and deteriorated materials may present increased risks during disassembly or repair.
When additional damage or complications occur, responsibility will be determined based on the circumstances, applicable law, and whether reasonable professional care was exercised.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for negligence, improper workmanship, or other liability that cannot legally be limited.
14. Declined Repairs and Vehicle Safety
Lewis Auto may identify additional maintenance needs, mechanical defects, or safety-related concerns during service.
Customers may decline recommended repairs, subject to applicable legal requirements.
When a vehicle is considered unsafe to operate, Lewis Auto may recommend towing or alternative transportation rather than driving.
Customers are responsible for decisions regarding the continued operation of vehicles with disclosed, unresolved safety concerns.
Lewis Auto remains responsible for its own services and any obligations imposed by law.
15. Vehicle Pickup and Storage
Customers will be notified when their vehicles are ready for pickup.
Customers are encouraged to arrange pickup within a reasonable period following notification.
Any storage charges must be separately disclosed and assessed only when authorized and permitted by Michigan law. No storage fee is automatically imposed by these website Terms.
Lewis Auto will comply with applicable requirements concerning disputed repair charges, abandoned vehicles, and vehicle possession.
16. Personal Property
Customers are encouraged to remove cash, valuables, sensitive documents, and unnecessary personal belongings before leaving their vehicles for service.
Lewis Auto will exercise reasonable care when handling vehicles and their contents.
Any responsibility for lost or damaged personal property will be determined under applicable law and the circumstances involved.
17. Third-Party Services
Certain automotive services may require assistance from outside specialists, suppliers, or subcontractors.
Examples may include wheel alignments, specialized machining, component rebuilding, and other services requiring specialized equipment.
When applicable, outside services and associated charges will be included in the customer's estimate or otherwise authorized as required by law.
Lewis Auto remains responsible for fulfilling its applicable obligations to customers.
18. Electronic Communications
Lewis Auto may communicate with customers through telephone calls, email, text messages, or electronic repair management systems.
Communications may include appointment coordination, estimates, authorization requests, repair updates, invoices, payment information, and service-related follow-up.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information.
Marketing communications, if used, will be subject to applicable consent and opt-out requirements.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Lewis Auto Privacy Policy.
19. Website Information and Availability
The Lewis Auto website provides general information regarding our business, automotive services, and contact methods.
Although we make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information, website content may contain outdated descriptions, pricing, availability, or other information.
Lewis Auto may update website content, service offerings, and business information without prior notice.

20. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the Lewis Auto name, original logos, branding, website text, and other original business materials are the property of Lewis Auto LLC or their respective rights holders.
Unauthorized commercial reproduction or use of protected materials is prohibited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
21. Privacy and Data Protection
Lewis Auto may collect and process customer information necessary for scheduling, vehicle service, estimates, invoicing, payments, and business communications.
Information may be processed using trusted third-party business systems and service providers.
Further details regarding the collection, use, retention, and protection of personal information are provided in our separate Privacy Policy.
22. Disputes and Customer Concerns
Lewis Auto encourages customers to contact the business directly regarding questions, concerns, or disputes involving services performed.
We will make reasonable efforts to review concerns and seek an appropriate resolution.
These Terms are governed by applicable Michigan law, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections or statutory remedies.
Nothing in these Terms restricts a customer's right to contact regulatory authorities or pursue remedies available under applicable law.
23. Changes to These Terms
Lewis Auto may revise these Terms of Service to reflect changes in business operations, services, technology, or legal requirements.
Updated terms will be posted on this website with a revised effective date.
Changes will apply prospectively and will not retroactively alter existing repair agreements or previously authorized transactions without appropriate agreement.
